History

Pandhurna is the 55th district of Madhya Pradesh state and 9th district of Jabalpur division, which came into existence in the year 2023 after separating from Chhindwara district. The area of the district is 1522.22 sq km. Is. It is bounded by Nagpur in the south-east, Betul and Amravati in the west and Chhindwara districts in the north.

The miraculous Jamsanwali Hanuman Temple is situated at a distance of about 25 km from Pandhurna, while it is situated at a distance of about 65 km from Nagpur. Gotmar Fair of Pandhurna “Gotmar Fair” is celebrated every year on Bhadrapada ‘Amavasya’ on the second day of Pola festival in Pandhurna city. This fair is celebrated on the banks of river ‘Jam’. A palash-shaped tree flag is planted in the middle of the Jam river and after the fair is over, this palash-shaped flag is offered in the temple of Maa Chandika. The worshipable goddess of this fair is Maa Chandika, who has been established in the center of the city since ancient times.

Ardhanarishwar Jyotirling, Mohgaon Haveli In Madhya Pradesh, along with the two Jyotirlings of Mahakaleshwar and Omkareshwar, there is also a third Ardhanarishwar Jyotirling. This third Jyotirlinga is situated in Mohgaon at a distance of 5 km from Saunsar tehsil of Pandhurna district. On the basis of Puranas, this Jyotirlinga is considered to be the twelfth and a half Jyotirlinga. The wonderful temple of Ardhanarishwar is situated in Mohgaon Haveli. Here Lord Bholenath is present in the form of Ardhanarishwar. Which fulfills all the wishes. Situated on the border of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, this place is situated at the center point of Char Dham, Twelve Jyotirlingas and Tripur Sundari.
